Woah! 2016

Holy moly folks,we're here already. Mother of God...welcome,welcome!

Since January has now dissipated like some ugly headcold,guess it's time to prepare for the year ahead.

This year will be dedicated to a project that I'm hugely excited about though it'll be an uphill battle. More on that when I have material ready to show! Exciting stuff is on the way!

For now a bit of an update on appearences!

Once again,I'll be at Dublin Comic Con this year with John Devlin as we release the next Incandescent Memories comic! Vol 3 has pretty much begun production though in the very early stages! DCC will be on at the National Convention this August 6th-7th.

Second bit of news,I'll be having a table at the Pop-Up Comics Fair happening next month - March 2nd!
In association with Alliance Francaise and The good folks behind The Comics Lab the exhibit will showcase the emerging comic creator market. Hope to see you guys there!

Last but not least...This month sees the first Women In Horror Month event take place at On The Rocks in Smithfield. To coincide with this,a WIHM comic anthology was put together by Sarah Elliot in which I have contributed to! The event will take place on February 25th at 7pm which will have live music and a copy of the anthology for everyone attending. Go check it out!

Con Update '15

It's coming up to that time of year again - Conventions!

Once again,Ireland plays host to some great conventions that have grown over the last few years and with that,it means more art is on the way for the road ahead! Just want to announce two conventions that I will be taking part in as of this date.

First up - is the incoming Cork Comic Expo taking place next month at Mahon Point in Cork!

Since DICE is off the cards this year,this convention will take its place. It's looking like it'll be a cracker of a weekend for all those involved. Thank you to Will Sliney for organising and giving a lot of creatives a great opportunity for this event. Looking forward to having a proper look down Cork too! John Devlin and I will be selling our comic again with some more art and goodies involved. I also have another project I'm hoping to reveal at the event aswell. Hope to see you all there!

Next up - Dublin Comic Con!

I know it's a little early but I might as well annouce that I'll be doing DCC once again this year!

I had such a blast last year selling prints,talking to cosplayers and running victory laps around the con floor that I couldn't pass up the chance to do this convention. This time around,John Devlin will be around again and we should hopefully have another comic on the way to sell! (which you cannot miss!!)

Speaking of the comic....that's a story for another day.Stay tuned.

Lastly - Thoughtbubble.

Just something I want to add on here.I applied for a table for Thoughtbubble in Leeds this November. Unfortunately,I didn't make the cut on the application process. 

However - I'm still on board in the off chance that in sometime between now and November,that a cancellation may occur.This will not be a scenario that is certain but if such an event does happen,I will make it known. Either way,I'm definitely on board with attending this year and supporting some cool peeps and the great Irish talent that are representing at this year's show!

Con Update #2 + ComicJam48 Hours!

So Dublin Comic Con was awesome! Thanks to the staff and attendees for making it such an amazing weekend! Next up is D.I.C.E,which I will also have a table at! D.I.C.E will commence on the 27th - 28th September at Dundrum Shopping Centre,at Pembroke Square. I will be joined this time by John Devlin so come visit our table in the trader/small press area!

In other news,I will also be taking part in the 48 hour Comic Jam which will be taking part on the weekend of September 6th - 7th! The Comic Jam will consist of teams of writers/artists/colourists who will be working together on a 3 page comic over 2 days! Those taking part in the event will be giving pro tips throughout the weekend from various voices in the Irish comic scene including Ruth Redmond and Darrin O'Toole! Anyone who has an interest in meeting and networking with new up and coming talents within comics should seriously consider buying a ticket now and taking part.

Con Update #1

Quickly announcing that I'll be at Dublin Comic Con on August 9th - 10th at the National Show Centre in Swords. Come by and own some of my art what have yous! Judging by last year's event,it should be an amazing weekend for all involved!

The Shtuff,State Of The Blog Update

So here we are once again...in January.The present future or the future present of 2014 is just down the road and I think it's time to take account on what's been happening.First of all,2013 was quite a year.I managed to continue to keep this blog going almost every week which kept me motivated and inspired throughout the year. Once again,thank you guys a lot for still coming back here to visit whenever I did post. 2013 was by far my best year on the blog to date and it wouldn't happen without your peepers! 

2013 was also great on the convention side of things as the comic scene really showed that there is not only a great community of people out there willing to support Irish comics but also that we can throw a damn good show too! Dublin Comic Con and DICE being particular highlights for me. I also got to exhibit at two conventions this year thanks to Epic con and Octocon staff's cooperation. Hopefully,this trend continues into the new year with MCM at the RDS and Shamrocon (Eurocon) to follow.

With me personally,there was some good with the bad. Plans I had set aside for a potential pitch didn't work out,being happy with my style but still refining it,project briefs going nowhere,lack of emails for said briefs and just plain feeling lost.It happens.However I suppose the latter half of the year was more positive as I just had to move on from that and just...do what I had to do! As simple as that sounds,this really helped. In return, it did led me to pick myself up to learn more programs and more importantly....write!

This year will definitely be more project driven which unfortuately means this blog won't be updated a lot in the coming months but I will continue to post as often as I can on the facebook page here!

Short Update: Octocon Oct 12-13!

Just a reminder that I'll be having a table at Octocon this weekend at the Camden Court Hotel. I'll be there both days among my talented mother-eff'n brethern and will be selling prints and doing free sketches for anyone who swings on by!

Hector Umbra/Updates

Just a quick colour experiment with digital instead of using watercolour for a change.Might have gone a little overboard with this one but the change was nice.Based on the series Hector Umbra by Uli Oesterle.

So for the past couple of months, it seems as if I'm just posting random pieces I've done and not any project work which I have regularly done in the past.So I thought, why not now updates yez on what's going on...right now.

Update #1: Epic Con 

If anyone is heading to Epic Con at NUI Maynooth later this month,I will be having a table in the Artist Alley section of the convention! Like at Art Source back in November, I will be selling prints and doing some more sketches.Hopefully this will be the first of many cons I will get to attend this year.More about that later!

Update #2: Comic Stoof

I'm currently working together with two writers on a potential Indie series of comics that will be pitched to  publishers.Can't say too much of what it's about but I am very excited with the material the team have come up with and the possibilities with where we could go with story and characters! Again more about that later... (sorry...)

Also hope to get working on my own material of course! Love to get something self published out there at long last! I've had an idea for a story for some time now that I've been prodding and disecting that I need to stop playing around with!

As well as that I've got a few new things that I have just started such as a poster and some ideas for editorials that I hope to begin on once the preceding items have been taken care of.

Anyway,best stop typing now before I become a blogger.Imagine that...
