Month of Coen Brothers!

Been a while hasn't it! It's been a weird, blurry few months as of late. Luckily for us this difficult year has almost drawn its final weeze until it croaks out so - things will get better from here right? Either way, just in case I'm calling dibs on an ensuite cube-room near the beach when Trump rolls out his prime Megacity blocks™ in a global superstate.

Anyway, until then I've been posting some Coen Brothers art as of late due to this year's Inktober theme. Inktober is an annual event when artists post ink-based art online every day for the month of October. This year, my theme was characters from Coen Brothers films!

Here's a few of my favourites! Still have yet to complete my list but I will complete it at a later date! As of this post,I've 23 complete!

Check out the rest of them here.

A Game Of Kings

New post,at last! For the last convention I attended, I decided to do a brand spanking new print to sell based on that obscure book series that no one has heard about. Now here it is, A Game Of Kings!

Also for those interested, I just put this up on redbubble!

For those who can make it to D.I.C.E, I'll still be selling this at my table so you have plenty opportunity to get it!

Speaking of D.I.C.E, stay tuned (do people still say that?) as I'll be unveiling something that I have in store soon(ish).

Good day!

I don't believe it!

Yep,I did an Xmas card! Based on the lovely regulars of Craggy Island of all places!

Go get yours today, just in time for the Holidays!

Go on,go on,go on,go on,go on,go on and get one!

The One They Call Devy

Been meaning to do this for a while but I finally did an illustration of the one and only Devin Townsend! The guy has been such a major inspiration to me since I first started college and his music is almost always present whenever I'm up to something constructive (or contructively deconstructive in that manner.)

So I had some time to kill before his gig recently so I got to work.In terms of reference,I was spoiled for choice as the guy has such great facial expressions! I did about 3 attempts until this beauty popped out!

Devin weighs in his thoughts...

Update! 23/2/12

Some colour tests for the three main characters on the comic I'm working on.More developments on the way.

Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy cover.

Part of the D&AD brief for Little White Lies. The idea behind each entry is to choose the main character from 1 of 5 movies and to include reference to the film within the context of the cultural / historical background of each cover.Influenced by the prints of Cor Klaasen.

...and Death's My Destination

Gully Foyle from 'The Stars My Destination.' Remember kids, don't hold grudges. You might get enhanced biomechanic strength and the ability to slow down time but more importantly facial tattoos. No one wants that.

Upon Reflection...

... he's getting quite old,man.

Small sketch of George Smiley from one of my favourite films of last year,Tinker,Taylor,Soldier,Spy. This is somewhat related to another project I have coming up on this here space.

The Norka part 1 Update

Here's part of what I've been working on for my first semester, five illustrations of 'The Norka.'

These are the reworked versions that i've done over recently.Way more satisfied with these now, photoshop was just not working for me.The last two images will be posted very soon.

A mini update.

Long time no see! Just a small post about a new thing I'm doing on twitter called #sketchsunday in which I'll draw a few short sketches as sort of an exersize.Hope to get into the flow of things eventually so feel free to send any small requests (within reason...) to the twitter or to the facebook.Looking to do a christmas oriented one on the 18th which should be sweet, already have a few ideas in mind..

Should have the blog returning back to the usual once I've got my current assignment ready to go.Some more plans ready to be revealed in the future...

That's all.THE DONE.

Sarkozy

Just a little something I did for a contest, the aim was produce a cartoon/caricature that's free handed and under A4 in size.I went for a style a little more extreme and experimental as it's something I'll eventually develop for my comic module (not to garish) but expressive nonetheless. Not expecting to hear much from it but might as well give it a shot.

EDIT : Newer, blurrier version that was sent as it was slightly better.
